ComputerWe had an old laptop with an old version of windows, which was only used for some software for an engine mangement system for our track car. The laptop stopped working and we couldn't get it to switch on, a hinge was broken too. Took it to many other PC shops who told us to throw it away, (No solution was given), it couldn't be mended. Before taking the amp to him, Ivan had already found and printed off the schematic diagram and knew exactly what needed to be done in order to rectify the issue. He then followed up the following day to ensure the issue was fixed, and when I had some other problems (unrelated) some days after, he was able to fix them on the spot. My electric skateboard wasn't working properly, so I contacted two electronics repairs companies hoping they could help me and fix my skateboard. Electric adjustable bedI needed a remote control handset for an electric adjustable bed repaired and when I dropped it around to Ivan he was able to diagnose the problem immediately. I had the unit back the next day and it's literally better than new. The cable had been pulled and some wires had become detached, so after repairing the wiring Ivan had made the cable more secure so that the problem wouldn't occur again. TelevisionMy Bauhn Tv (about 6 yrs Old) had the issue of not switching on. Would require multiple attempts before it would come on. Sometimes spent 30 mins trying to turn Tv on. When on it would work fine. I researched online and found it was most likely a blown capacitor issue. So I called Ivan and he was prompt and polite and asked if I could come over and he would look at the Tv. Actually opened the Tv in front of me and diagnosed immediately some capacitors had blown and needed replacement. I left the Tv with Ivan and 2 hours later the Tv was fixed and in working order when I arrived to collect. The price I paid was very reasonable. Video Production LightI had shorted a light I use for video production. I wasn’t ready to part with a few hundred dollars for a replacement light just yet. Not sure whether it could be fixed, or what the cost of repair would be, I found Ivan’s Calvan Electronics website and made an appointment. I was able to determine that we could get it fixed under insurance. He then fixed it in a much shorter time frame than expected. Hi-Fi UNitIvan has helped me with a number of repairs recently. He fixed my much loved vintage Onkyo CP-100A (Japan) and Dual 1209 (Germany) turntables.
